If you are near the Shenkman Centre come check out the art work of the lovely and talented ladies of my Alternative Embroidery and Textile Arts class! The work featured below (from top to bottom) is by Anne Warburton, Mary Clennett, and Carol Howard Donati. More images to come! The exhibition is hung on the third floor of the Orlean's Ottawa School of Art near studio A. The show features a variety of techniques from traditional embroidery, to wax collage and contour drawing with thread. Many of my students are members of Out of the Box a group of artists and crafters devoted to innovative approaches to fibres. With such experienced and devoted participants the class has been a very rich experience for us all!
