Looking to explore and experiment with a new medium this winter?
Alternative Embroidery and Textile Arts is back at the Orleans Ottawa School of Art this January on Monday Afternoons from 1-4, January 16 to March 3rd. Register at on line on the OSA site.
This class will explore alternative uses of sewing and embroidery. Using techniques such as contour drawing with thread, embroidery stitches and object mounting, students may create compositions on hand made paper, photographs, canvas, clothing and more. Participants will also experiment with the transparency and texture of paper, as well as mixed media projects involving paint and appliqué. Anyone who enjoys hand sewing, contour drawing, collage or investigating new materials will enjoy this course.
