$MTEntryExcerpt$> Through stitch-lines, zippers and a mélange of layered fabrics my work questions the integrity of edifices and membranes. $MTEntryExcerpt$> Houses and vestements often become extensions of our organism, the boundaries of our bodies writ large. Clothing and architectural facades are marked with both points of construction and lines of wear and breakage. While the human skin is often deceivingly free of seems and cracks the persona is generally crisscrossed with evidence of mending and alteration. Elements are both coarsely grafted and more artfully incorporated in the service of adaptation or reconciliation. Using a diverse array of media including acrylics, oils, encaustics, quilting and embroidery, the scarred and mortared bulwarks and the waistcoats of our personal comfort and preservation are explored.
